Before taking this class, I had no idea what a PLN was nor how to use one. I learned that a PLN is a personal learning network. This network of people, journals, articles, and social media help you connect with other educators or people in your work field. The personal learning network helps you derive information from other people in a personal learning environment.
My personal learning map consists of the people and tools I use on an everyday basis to help me get in touch with other future educators and connect with other networks that can help me in the classroom. My map will continue to grow throughout my time at school, and in the work force. My PLN will help me bounce my ideas off other educators, and help me find new ideas to use in my classroom. The personal learning networks are also a good way to keep track of all the resources you used to gain more information. If you can not remember something you used back in 2016 to help you create a lesson plan in your classroom, or someone you connected with, you can go back and look at your personal learning map. It will help you remember all of the tools and resources you used.
A PLN will not only help other people connect with you, but you connect with other people. It’s good way to find new ideas and tools for your field of work, and a good way to connect with others.
